Don't mess with Texas!

James Turells Skyspace, at Rice University

The most scrumptious, moorish food!

A cactus light, that I NEED!!

So I'm back on the blog!
Just got back from my trip to Houston, Texas. Hopefully this is the first of many new adventures across America

The weather was glorious and after months of -20'C and intense snow! It was greatly welcomed, I got to wear my sandals and sunglasses.
Everyone was very friendly, they all had that 'southern charm', I could get really used to that lifestyle!

My week was mostly made up of drinking tequila based cocktails and eating amazing food, everything is bigger in Texas, including myself if I stayed any longer!

My favourite part was watching the sunset at the James Turell light installation at Rice University, the most relaxed I've ever been!

I'll definitely be back, totally worth another trip :-)

My only regret, not purchasing some cowboy boots.....

Christmas at the Barrazas

Zoe the raindear

Hi everyone back home, I hope you've had an enjoyable Christmas?
It's been a strange one for me, as it is the first ever time I've been away from my family!
However the lovely Barraza family took me in, fed and watered me and even got me my very own personal stocking presents! I'm so grateful :-)
I did get to skype the family also and open presents together, thanks mum, dad and Jess for my lovely presents, which I'll treasure, except for the chocolate, that stuff didn't last 5 minutes!

Can't wait to visit home in the spring, my new years resolution is to save enough money to actually pay for the plane ticket :-) and of course to be happy and healthy!

Happy New Year xx

Birthday present to myself!

Hi all,
It's been a a fun and festive couple of weeks!
I took a trip to NYC, to see the Christmas windows at Bergdorf Goodman in 5th ave, the whole avenues looked really pretty with all the twinkly lights :-)
The Christmas tree wasn't quite ready at the Rockefeller, which is a shame, but I'm going to see the tree at the White house tomorrow, stay tuned for photos!

I got to experience my first Thanksgiving too, I was invited to my friend Sarah's house, along with my work colleague Mahesh, who's also from England,
The food was so yummy, and Sarah's family are so welcoming, I've been invited back for Christmas :-)

Also it was my birthday a few days ago, I got myself a fancy fur scarf and my roommates got me a bottle of champagne!

I got presents sent all the way from Manchester to DC from my awesome family, thank you so much!

Also please note:
I put together these drawers all by myself!! Ta daaa....
I'm gonna stain and put new handles on it though (always a visual merchandiser!)

Eastern Market

Please note, the georgous red coat with fur collar! It will be mine!! I just need the funds first :-)

So I discovered my new favourite place in DC, Eastern Market, it's full of amazing goodies! Including vintage clothes, furniture etc
If I had a million pounds I'd spend it all here!
I had a lovely brew at the Vigilante Coffee Company, also best branding I've seen so far (take that Starbucks!)

I finished off the day with a margaritas and tacos at El Centro in Georgetown,

I'm heading to New York tomorrow, stay tuned....

Another bad selfie, with my manager Michelle! Excuse the face, this is woman who hasn't slept for days!!

Rockin a hard hat!
It's finally open :-)
I finally have an actual workplace, instead of a hotel! And it's all mine, we'll sort of!
I got to play project manager for a bit too,

Also it's October and it's weirdly still sunny and warm, I thought I'd show you some of the culinary delights I've been sampling throughout the month, my favourite being the Oreo flavoured
frozen yoghurt, yum :-)
Maggianos Italian opened near my store and invited us for a free meal, obviously we said YES!!
